At Regent Training Centre you can choose a course that is both relevant and interesting to you. Programmes have been chosen for their relevance in their local regions, and for the ability for learners to pathway on from them to higher education and/or employment locally.
Programmes are developed in conjunction with the various industries and also our students, to make sure that the content is up to date and fresh.
All courses are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and are zero fees for 16 to 19 year olds (even 15 year olds if you have a Ministry of Education early leaving exemption from school). All courses lead to New Zealand or National Certificates and most to nationally recognized Vocational Pathway awards as well.
NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) is part of all level 2 programmes of study at Regent Training Centre. However, instead of upgrading your English and Math’s skills in a class room you can be out on a building site, in a kitchen, in a gym, or in an automotive workshop all the while not even realising that your academic skills and knowledge are increasing.
All courses are practically based, and allow you to progress at your own speed, and in your own way. Our days on campus are guided by Tikanga principals and learners are encouraged to learn in a way that suits them culturally. Tutors have come from the various industries and their aim is to support and guide you through your chosen course. As many of our previous students have said, at Regent Training “they don’t give up on you” and we do our very best to make sure you can achieve what you set out to.
